TAKE A LOOK !!! NRG power point/slide show. Takes about 30 seconds to load, but gives a great look at how NRG works to save energy.

What did cavemen and cavewomen
know, and when did they know it?

In winter, they knew that thermal mass
kept them warm. Then, they may have said,
"oooh".
In summer, they knew that thermal mass
kept them cool. Then, they may have said
(with heartfelt meaning), "aaah".

They found out through trial and error
the cardinal rule of good design:
Reduce the energy load of your living
space through passive means.
Beats the heck out of  spending all
your time gathering wood, right?

NRG has refined the system a bit.
Thermal mass stays warm or cold
because it has a high heat capacity
and a long thermal lag time.
To keep its interior thermal mass
warm or cold, NRG adds a layer of
insulation, which creates insulated
thermal mass.
Next, NRG adds an exterior layer
of thermal mass, which contributes
safety, security, beauty, and durability.

NRG insulated block is a revolutionary
block based on caveman science.

NRG's continuous separation between
the interior and the exterior block
portions creates the insulated thermal mass
that other blocks wish they had.
Some rival blocks even show photos of
what looks to be continuous insulation,
while they deceptively hide their
thermal bridges.

How effective is NRG?
It's like having a car that gets
ninety miles per gallon.

NRG buildings typically use about
one third the heating and cooling
energy of conventionally built block
buildings.

There are so many advantages to using NRG,
so many reasons, and facts ,and figures,
that it seems like too much information to
give on a first date.

Since science is on our side, I do not want to
leave anything out. I propose this: skip around,
come back often, and learn something new each time.

Feel free to call me or e-mail me with questions.
My name is Marty, and I am here to help you save energy.

Here are some of the many things to think about:

Since 75% of carbon emissions are produced
by buildings, designing with NRG can
substantially reduce our carbon footprint.

The US block industry accounts for nearly
5 billion units per year.

Replacing standard block with NRG
block in just10% of new buildings could
save eleven billion dollars over ten years.

The NRG value increases as energy prices escalate.

NRG technology is a winner of the
New York State Governor's
Award for Energy Excellence.

NRG Philosophy:
The most inexpensive energy is energy not used.

NRG Mission:

Make a better world, block by block,
one building at a time.

Consider The NRG Advantages:

Rated R-22 in independent lab report,
based on DOE approved calculations,
but can thermally outperform an
R-54 wall in the real world. Click on the
NRG vs. Other walls link above.

NRG saves money, energy, and
construction labor cost.

When thermal mass is exposed
to the building's interior, the thermal
mass works to moderate
the interior temperature of the building.
NRG adds a layer of insulation on the outside of
this thermal mass, which minimizes the exterior
influence, and maximizes energy efficiency.

NRG block is compatible with LEED (Leadership
in Energy and Environmental Design), GBI (Green
Buildings Initiative), CHPS (Collaborative for High
Performance Schools), and Green Globes.

NRG is listed on GreenSpec, a list of
environmentally preferable building
products whose green credentials
have been vetted by a team of green
building professionals.

NRG walls pay for themselves through energy savings.

NRG block provides building interior with
high insulated thermal mass, which acts as a
giant storage battery for energy.
The building interior stays warm or cool with
minimum energy input.

NRG walls have a high heat capacity and
long thermal lag time.

NRG block can be produced by any block
manufacturer, using NRG's patented molds,
on existing equipment.

NRG patented block consistently delivers
HVAC energy savings of over 60%, using
US Department of Energy Commercial Buildings
Energy Consumption Surveys as a comparative
baseline.

NRG insulated concrete block arrives
at the job site ready to use, and lays
just like standard block.

NRG block is available in many colors and finishes.

NRG block is available in a half-high
block, which is virtually indistinguishable
from brick.

NRG block saves labor and material costs;
when the mason lays the wall, the wall
is finished.

NRG block saves money up front,
since it allows for smaller capacity
HVAC systems.

NRG block is compatible with
conventional fasteners.

NRG block is non-combustible.
NRG 10" and 12" blocks have a
4 hour fire rating.

NRG block can be vertically and
horizontally reinforced without
modifications.

NRG block has superior
noise reduction properties. (STC 53)

NRG block is the world's most energy efficient block.
